Water based concrete curing compound
UsesFor spraying on freshly cast concrete, or newly exposedconcrete surfaces after removal of form work, to form atemporary membrane which will retain suffi cient moisture foreffective curing to take place. Used for concreting generallybut especially useful for large areas of concrete such aspavements, runways and bridge decks; also for verticalor sloping surfaces as on towers, chimneys, canal linings, columns and beams, where water curing is difficult orunreliable.Advantages Single application : Forms moisture barrier for whole of thecuring period.??? No other curing necessary : Eliminates use of water, hessianor sand completely Reliable : No risk of erratic or poor curing and ensures thatcement hydrates effi ciently Ensures hard-wearing surface : Minimises risk of dryingshrinkage, cracks and dusty surfaces.??? Easy and safe spray application: Non-toxic andnonfl ammable.Standards complianceCuring effi ciency : Concure WB curing agent complies with theinternationally recognised ASTM C309-90 standard.Description :Concure WB is a white, low viscosity wax emulsion which incorporatesa special alkali reactive emulsion breaking system. This system ensures that the emulsion breaks down to form anon penetrating continuous fi lm immediately upon contact with acementitious surface. This impervious fi lm prevents excessivewater evaporation which in turn permits more effi cient cementhydration, thus reducing shrinkage and increasing durability.Once formed, the membrane will remain on the concretesurface until eventually broken down and eroded by naturalweathering. Where it is required to apply a further treatmentto such concrete surface, it may be necessary to remove themembrane remaining after curing by wire brushing or othermechanical means. The use of curing membranes on internal floor slabs isgenerally to be avoided where additional surface fi nishesare to be applied. Concure WB is however ideal where theconcrete surface of a fl oor slab is to be left as fi nished.Water based concrete curing compoundpage 1 of 2Concure WBTechnical SupportFosroc offers a comprehensive range of high performance, high quality concrete repair and construction products. Coverage rates outsidethis recommended range may be used if necessary andsuitable to meet specifi c requirements. The pumppressure should be maintained at a level to produce a fi ne sprayensuring complete coverage of the surface.Rate of application depends on requirements but is typicallywithin the range of 200 to 285 ml/m2.
