Patchroc
Medium fast setting concrete patching compound Uses Patchroc has been specially designed to provide a fast set repairing concrete floors and pavements and is particularly useful where traffic must be kept fl owing with minimum down time. Patchroc will be of particular interest to industrial maintenance engineers, transport managers, airport authorities or anywhere that pot holes in concrete cause a hazard to pedestrian and wheeled traffic.Advantages Medium Fast setting - Minimum disruption to traffic Easy to use - Needs only the addition of water. Easy to lay - Very easy to apply & finish Non shrink - Does not crack High adhesion - Use Nitobond AR as primer ensures good bonding to concrete substrates. Durable & Tough surface - Resistant to wear and tear Description Patchroc is supplied as a pre-blended dry powder to which water is added to produce an easily trowell able mortar. Patchroc is a blend of inorganic cements, additives to modify and control the rate of setting and strength gain, with selected hard wearing aggregates. Patchroc does not contain calcium chloride. Patchroc has been designed for the patching of small areas of concrete i.e., individual patches requiring not more than 12.6 litre yield per 25kg bag of Patchroc. The blend of cements eliminates shrinkage with the consequent reduction of stress at the bond line. Long lasting adhesion is ensured by the use of Nitobond AR bonding agent.Technical support A technical advisory service is available for onsite assistance in the use of Fosroc product range. Properties Typical Properties at 300C Working life 10 min Setting time 20 min Traffic Time Vehicular 12 hours Pedestrian 2 hours Compressive strength (N/mm2) at 300C2 Hours : 151 Day : 4028 Days : 55 Mixed density 2.20 g/cc Application instructions Before using any repair material Fosroc recommends that the reason for the failure be diagnosed by a suitably qualified authority.Surface preparation Successful repairs to concrete depend totally on correct surface preparation. Particular care should be taken to ensure all surfaces are completely free of laitance, oil, dust, grease, plaster, paint, corrosion and any other deleterious substances. Laitance should be mechanically removed by high pressure water blasting, grit blasting or a combination of both. Oil and grease deposits, should be removed by steam cleaning or detergent scrubbing, or with use of a proprietary degreaser. Smooth surface should be mechanically roughened by scrabbling or needle gun to form a good key. All reinforcing steel must be grit blasted to a profile of SA21/2 prior to the application of Nitozinc Primer.Edges of the areas for repair must be saw cut to 12mm to avoid feather edging. Finally the complete area should be blown clean with oil free compressed air. Patchroc may be used from a minimum of 12mm to a maximum of 50mm thick. If the depth of the pot hole is greater than 50mm,individual layers should be scratch keyed and allowed to set fora minimum of 2 hours before priming and placing the next layer.Priming All surfaces must be primed prior to repair. Before priming, the substrate should be thoroughly soaked with clean water and any excess shall be removed from the surface preferably by oil free compressed air. Concrete must be primed with Nitobond AR. Nitobond AR should be scrubbed into the surface of the concrete. Patchroc should be applied to the primed surface as soon as possible after mixing

Renderoc ® RG(L)

Cost effective, General purpose, non-shrink, cementitious microconcrete Uses For economical repairs to damaged reinforced concrete elements, particularly where access is restricted and where vibration of the placed material is difficult or impossible. Suitable for various structural strengthening measures such as filling honeycombs and cracks. Advantages  Gaseous expansion system compensates for shrinkage and settlement in the plastic state.  Can be pumped or poured into restricted locations.  Highly fluid to allow for placement without vibration.  Pre-packed to overcome site-batched variations.  Low permeability  Economical  Contains no chloride admixture.  Ease of use Description Renderoc RG(L) is supplied as a ready to use blend of dry powder, which requires only the site addition of clean water to produce a free-flowing, non-shrink microconcrete. The material is based on Portland cements, and fillers, and additives which impart controlled expansion characteristics in the plastic state, while minimising water demand. The low water requirement ensures high early strength and long-term durability. For larger repairs, Renderoc RG(L) may be modified by the addition of 5mm to 12mm clean, graded saturated surface dry aggregates at site. For exceptionally large repairs, the local Fosroc office should be consulted. Technical support Fosroc offers a technical support package to specifiers, end users and contractors as well as technical on-site assistance in locations all over the country. Design criteria Renderoc RG(L) can be applied in sections upto 100mm deep. For larger sections, the addition of approved aggregates may be required. This will depend on the specific configuration of the repair location. Consult the local Fosroc office for further information.
